From Rice To Riches
Clueless is at it again:
I did mention that the old man practically smashed Khairy's pot of rice. That's something about which I am very sad. He has sold his interest in ECM Libra (a merchant bank). Sold it at a loss. Now he has some debts to settle.Khairy studied economic philosophy at Oxford. He was going to work in Hong Kong but it was too far away. Then he decided to go to Singapore. By that time he was already in UMNO Youth.
I posed him a question: 'Are you going into politics or are you going into business?' You cannot do both together, especially if you are going to operate in Singapore. That was the time when he was offered to join ECM Libra. That was the time they made all sorts of news about him. I thought, what the hell are you talking about? They made all sorts of noise so as to disqualify him. To make him scared. As a merchant banker his company was doing well. People were asking him to do all sorts of things. It is very unkind. [Bangkok Post]
"The old man practically smashed Khairy's pot of rice"?
And here I was, thinking I had a hand in it, or at least a finger.
Finally some balls from the boss? You gotta be shittin' me.
It's more like foot-in-mouth, a disease that Pak Lah seems unable to shake off.
If Khairy's "pot of rice" that was his shareholding and job in ECM Libra was "clean" in all senses of the word (not to mention being in accordance with the much-vaunted principles of Islam Hadhari that his father-in-law likes to talk about so much), then where was the need to dispose of the shares and to quit the job?
If you have done nothing wrong, what is there to be afraid of?
And this is KJ we're talking about, someone who in the few short years of his political career has had to face a helluva lot more than many older politicians have.
He doesn't quit that easily.
The truth is, it was far more expedient, personally and politically, for KJ to take the route he took than to have the public find out about the gory details.
And this bit, "as a merchant banker his company was doing well. People were asking him to do all sorts of things", is something else.
What's missing here is that KJ was also asking people to do all sorts of things. Wouldn't your company do well if you had KJ on your side? Go ask Kali.
This inability to make sense that seems to have gotten a real hold of Pak Lah is further exemplified by his defence of his son's "business":
My son [Kamaluddin] is a lawyer, he knows everything, that his father is the prime minister. He was in oil and gas. He worked overseas. He's got 35 locations overseas. He got some contracts with Petronas through open, international tender. And he offers the best terms.
That's what he does.
And he bought some companies which he wanted because of their engineering capabilities, machine-tooling capabilities. He does not build the company organically, he goes for mergers and acquisitions. That's his style of business.
Although many people have come and asked him to go into joint ventures with government-linked companies, he says 'No, I have enough money, I am rich'.
Sure. If you gloss over the details, you could also say that Adolf Hitler only had the best interests of the German people at heart.
And, "I am rich". So were the family of Suharto. Not to mention that of Dr Mahathir's.
Many people voted for Pak Lah because they wanted him to set things right, and he promised to set things right.
One of the things he promised was that he would show no fear or favour, not even towards his family members.
Who is being unkind now?
Pak Lah shouldn't worry too much about KJ's debts. As Prime Minister of this country, the thing that should most concern him is the debt he owes us.

Didn't someone from Scomi said earlier that his son was a passive investor? So how come the PM is saying that 'he got' the Petronas contracts?

I'm actually at a loss to explain AAB's "Mr Bean" antics. Is he really that clueless ? Is he being propped up by the opportunists at Level 4? Are our reporters so stupid as not to ask the right questions and insist on the right answers ?
In his 3+ years as PM, all the clear-cut criminal cases involving BN politicians have not been prosecuted - the forged APs, the close-one-eye MP, the MPK councillors, the list goes on and on. We are not talking about grey areas - these were clear-cut abuses and fraud, and NONE have been prosecuted.
So what have you got to say, AAB ? Oh, you don't know....

let us all look at the bright side, if we malaysian get a much worst Mr. Prime Minister, we all would suffer even further.
we should thanked GOD that our Mr. Prime Minister is kinda DUMBER and SLOWER brain than those prior him.
our economy is still managable, no killing on the streets except by the Malays Mat Rempit... while the rest looks fine; there's still Happy Feet movie in cinemas, 7-Eleven stores etc.
what we need to do is support our DUMBER Mr. Prime Minister of his vision and make them happen... he needs that chance to lead, why not allows that reign.
anyhow, we already being fooled over last 3+ years, another 10 years of the same won't take our lives away anyway...
so be it!

Just can't wait for the next election.
And when it comes, lt's start an internet
campaign to discourage voting for BN.
Unless of course, AAB does a Lee Kuan Yew & make it illegal for bloggers to talk politics.

If there is one place yet to be cleaned up properly is MPK.
There is a councillor siting there from a political party as a branch Chairman in KLang.
here is the update:
a) Lived in Hamburg Germany for nearly 30 years.
b) was a mafia drug dealer/Gangster
c) Controlled prostitution in Hamburg's red light area.
d) Arrested at Schipol Airport in 1976 with another german by the name of Helmut for carrying drugs.
Sits at MPK but never seeks publicity as he is worried that people may see his face as he uses a Christian name instead of his Hindoo name that people in Klang knows him better with.
With such criminals siting in Councils , what do you expect.
KJ and Dato Azeez Rahim (The Preston Uni MBA degree fame) is another example of having gangsters as henchmen in politics and worst still Azeez wants to legalise Mat Rempits and show them off as a Tourist Atraction.
I CALL THIS FATAL ATTRACTION...
It is about time AAB cleaned the mess and got rid of these criminals. At least LKY govt in singapore does not condone such criminals in his cabinet.
The next election my vote goes to the opposition for sure, enough is enough.......

Whatever said, the way he commented.
This guy has to go. He is not fit to lead the country. The country is at risk of sliding further under his hands.
I am sorry but I have to vote you out. I am also sorry for voting you in previously.
