Call Of The Wild
He's a street fighting man now:
Hundreds of anti-U.S. protesters led by the Malaysian prime minister's son-in-law broke through a police cordon Friday and marched to the entrance of a convention center where Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was meeting with other foreign ministers.... "Dr. Rice, I will not leave until you come out!" shouted Khairy Jamaluddin, the protest leader, as riot police held him back at the doorway to the convention center.
"Israel is a wild beast. Israel is the Devil!" he shouted, demanding that a U.S. representative meet him. [Associated Press via Wall Street Journal; subscription required]
The only reason why Israel has gotten away with its beastly and devilish behaviour is because it has the protection of the United States.
The United States is our largest trading partner, and if not for its electronics industry, our export receipts would amount to a lot less.
We are negotiating a Free Trade Agreement with the United States, which the Americans would very much like to have, although so far, nothing concrete has come out of it.
What am I trying to say?
How much of "Dr Rice, I will not leave ..." and "Israel is a wild beast ..." is political posturing, and how much of it is genuine conviction?
All this on a day that Mahathir gets sprayed with a "chemical irritant" in Kelantan and later lets loose against Pak Lah and his family members, including KJ.
All this at a time when being Khairy Jamaluddin is not particularly a comfortable position to be in.
All this, as far as I'm concerned, is bullshit.

Of course it's sandiwara, to deflect attention on the going-ons within UMNO. The Oxford graduate makes deals with Singapore privately, but publicly condemns our neighbour. Tomorrow his actions will be reported in the mainstream press as a personal sacrifice and true leadership. What's scary is that the bulk of the UMNO grassroots will believe in that bullshit.

The bugger should go to Afghanistan or Iraq to fight along with the resistance forces there instead of behaving like an idiot in front of the Americans.

AISEHMAN.... KJ is either stupid or dumb, he has to think properly b4 answering me. What's the use of protesting and demanding someone so high up there to meet you, do u think you can make a difference? if you have the guts, buy a ticket to Beirut now and volunteer to fight for the Lebanese then i guess you may make a little difference better than making useless protest. TALK IS CHEAP KJ, ACTION SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS.

Aisehmannnn. KJ tu nak update resume/cv je. Dalam cv takde pun "fought street battles/demonstrations against establishment". Takde pun tanda-tanda rebellious streak which both Mahathir and Anwar ada. You know, people will balls between their legs?
So kena lah buat something, no matter how bs it is.

When I watch the performance of KJ, I was not impressed but I was scared. The truth is his 'acting' was not good but it still managed to whip up the crowd to a frenzy. I have not seen fire on ths street like this since May 13, 1969. KJ is a good opportunist, you have to admit that and be VERY VERY SCARED of it.
For one so young and well-educated to so willingly give up on principles for the sake of political gains means that he has 'gone over to the other side' i.e., the means justify the ends of Mahahathirism and the problem is that he does not have the same courage and leadership, the same sense of history that knows the lies and wrongs made up his forefathers.
Don't want to be corny but went I see KJ, I see Anakin SkyWalker just before he turns into Darth Vader or already there..

To me, every action starts from a position. Underlying each position are convictions.
What you are saying is that KJ had to do something to get out from his rather uncomfortable position. That something happened to be the event at KLCC.
Yet I don’t see the link between events in Kelantan and KJ’s position. You mean, KJ planned all these?
I think not. Here’s why. KJ assumes a leadership position in an important political organization. How do we prefer him to lead us? Sit on his butt than think on his feet? Retreat into seclusion than advance onto the street? Or what?
If USA is the ‘taiko’ that protects Israel, I see no wrong with KJ’s action. Neither do I smell bad intent. If I want peace in the middle-east, I don’t care how much politicians ‘postured’, for want of a better word, to get it. What’s the alternative? Continuing suffering there and us bitching from a distance?
Perhaps, a case of damned if you do; cursed if you don’t?

KJ,
Are you a dumb FCUK or what? I hope the US bans you permanently from their country.

What an idiot !
Who does he think he is ?
Demand the fourth person in line to succeed the US presidency to meet him ?
What a fool indeed !!!!!!!!!!!

"I don’t see the link between events in Kelantan and KJ’s position. You mean, KJ planned all these?"
Mahathir got sprayed in the morning. KJ's performance was in the afternoon.
Would it be too much to suggest that KJ had to do something extra if he didn't want news of the protest he led drowned out by news of Mahathir getting sprayed?
"If I want peace in the middle-east, I don’t care how much politicians ‘postured’, for want of a better word, to get it."
Politicians have access to channels and platforms that are more effective than street demos. And the Malaysian government has been using those tools.
There's nothing wrong with politicians organising street demos. But the theatrics that followed was clearly excessive, unneccessary and unwarranted.
It looked like a show calculated not so much to get the point of the protests across, but to gain some street cred for KJ.
Was there anyone else recognisable in KJ's entourage?
All I saw were his machais Norza Zakaria, Reezal Merican, and Putra Umno conman Azeez Rahim.
That says a lot, doesn't it?

jigsawpuzzle,
It's absolutely not an act of dumb fCUK as you wish to phrase, it's another act of getting publicity (cheap publicity I reckon).
KJ *thoughts* he is one damn brilliant man, by resorting to this front page action, he is going to win the hearts of millions. He denounced the Government invitation which is led by his father-in-law, and indirectly, that's must lead some of us to ponder, when the son-in-law doesn't even show the little respect towards his father-in-law, may I know how the F**K we Malaysians can show respect to the PM?
If Pak Lah wants to fix the Government, first thing first, prioritise fixing KJ as his first agenda.
Remember, discipline starts from home?

And what do you guys do? Sit in front of your PC and bull shit about some other people's life !

KJ's histrionics is just sad. To me it doesn't even show a man building street cred among the party, if local personal politics is the motivator, as it always is. Instead I see him as a political desperado. All that Oxford pedigree gone down the poop-chute.
I have no respect for him.

Yes - it’s a gap too far to leap even if we concede the print media bows to his wishes. OK, KJ did share NST’s front page with the ‘pepper spray’. Sure, it got more column inches. Bravo, its page 2 placement promoted its newsworthiness (sublimely?) to a higher order.
Yet speaking from a distance, these are editorial decisions. KJ’s actions at the demo have no impact on them. Or do they?
Put another way, had KJ asked the print media to jump, would you not agree the immediate response is: “how high?” or “to where?”
My regret is that KJ could have led a broader coalition to this protest. Instead he chose a political one, and a Malay one at that. To me, it was a missed opportunity.

A demo led by KJ and UMNO youth minions has no credibility and integrity if it's done in the name of Malaysia.
So much for thinking on his feet, despite oxford!
This is certainly done for cheap publicity and self-gratification.
Wonder what FIL and SIL talked about later the same night at Sri Perdana.

No wonder the country is going down the drain. The PM is getting advise from an idiot who doesn't know what better things to do.

Pedro:
Protesting against the USA is fine, and in fact most of us here support a peaceful demonstration, like thousands did at Hyde Park over the weekend. But to do it like a mob, and to behave like someone gone amok is not the right thing to do. You have KJ instigating and leading a mob reaction, yet on the same day, there was his father-in-law shaking hands with Rice. You think the Americans do not know who is behind the lameduck PM? Why the hypocrisy ? It scares the non-bumis that an Oxford-educated graduate who is pulling the strings of government is capable of such mob behaviour. I can understand if KJ is a product of UPM, but through his personal dealings with the Singapore government, a well-known US sympathiser, we must all draw the conclusion that it was all for show, for personal gratification.

KJ is the real fighter for youn generation of Malaysia. Syabas KJ, U ve done us proud to be Malaysian.
Who else in Malaysia brave enough to voice the world feeling against USA. Pak Lah ? - I don't think so.

what u all problem.. at least KJ do something to show n prove apa dia rasa.. depa??? byk bercakap ada lah... menyesal follow blog ni, buang masa
Posted by: myra at July 30, 2006 01:43 PM
When I saw KJ's facial expression on TV the other night, I almost puked! What is he trying to prove (by wrapping some sort of flags around his neck)? Btw, KJ is an acronym for KUTU JALAN!
As for those bunch of idiots who is licking/sucking KJ's "b*lls", I really wonder whether these bunch of goons realised that KJ is merely putting up a show! Am totally agreed with GODFATHER...if KJ's b*lls are still intact, perhaps he should buy a ticket to Beirut and expose his ass on the line!
As for KJ's remark on Dr. Rice that she is not welcomed by Malaysian but was welcomed by the Govt. Well, I can't help it but to say that this dude is stupid or what??? Who ran the Govt??? Hezbollah?? Osama??? obviously not....it is none other than his father-i-law!(I doubt Oxford would produce this type of stupidity)
KJ also mentioned in today's Star that he will publish all the companies that have dealings with Israel....and how much he hates America, well again he put his stupidity to test....did he know where his late mother-in-law went for treatment? It is in LA for Los Angeles in USA..NOT Leboh Ampang la stupid!
So..my advise to this young stupid fart, think twice before you speak and really hope the INS will bar this idiot from entering US.

I am pissed at the americans and israel because of the plight of the lebanese and palestinians. I know everyone also feels the same. Today, 36 children died when Israeli jets bombed a civillian building. It is really sad to hear news like that.
HOWEVER, having said that, it is ridiculously stupid for KJ to storm klcc like the way he did and demanded to see Secretary Rice on the matter. Some may see this as an act of 'comraderie' and 'heroism', but it is just plain stupid.
His father-in-law is the freaking PM. Surely, there were other alternatives that he could take in order to get his message out to Condi Rice.
BUT NOOOO...kj needs to protest...and he needs to be the biggest protester there is-->i'm sorry to say, but this is a shameless act of publicity, to get his profile up a notch. I know some of you may be KJ supporters here and think his act is brave etc etc, but it is not a smart way to get his message across on the matter.
To use an analogy based on an earlier comment made by SK:
The situation is like you are inviting a guest into your home and your son-in-law is acting 'kurang ajar' to the guest. I think what KJ did is stupid. It brought shame not only to him, but also his father in law.
At least before, I saw him as a solid, formidable young men with a good political future. But presently, to me, and most of my family and friends, I feel he made a fool of himself and it was really stupid cheap way of getting publicity.
Good thing about the protest--> The 'niat' was there. I applaud that. Innocent civillians- yes civillians, not army, are being killed daily in Lebanon. There seem to be no end and Ehud Omert is an evil man, hell bend on the invasion and destruction of Lebanon.
Bad/stupid thing--> KJ's actions- its really is a crying shame and I feel there are other alternatives that he could have done, being the son-in-law of the PM. I don't believe him if he said 'there aren't any'-->cheap publicity!

KJ epitomise the product of this BN government "NEP programe", whom sucessfully has dig his path well and directed to the leader's diner table.
What a shame and waste of rakyat money(down to the sinkhole)to have educate, groome and "give quota" for bussiness and power interests to this kind of character.
Does he speak for Malaysian? or UMNO?...or Umno youth? where are his bosses mats son or the minister Hishamuddin(UMNO youth supremo)?
If you protest to give a "supposably memorandum (1 page only???)". Why the agression and burning flags. why the allah wah Bah??...Are the chinese, indian, kadazan, Iban singing the same tune too.
this concludes; an immediate ISA to KJ for instigation and rioting in the street.

Godfather,
Let's be rasional...like Dr M mentioned...we should respect the leader actions (if the actions are good, automatically he will be respected) and not the leader himself......same goes to KJ...he might have business deals with americans..so what ! Not all American actions are bad either...we should follow the goods things from Americans...and should hate those things that we think is not right...thus in KJ case, he showed his hatred to Americans due to a specific reason as we all already knew....the 'amok' thing is not actually an 'amok'..this are common gestures that are normally used (politicians) to be heard...that's why not everyone can be a politician...

its not a cheap publicity. he did what he thought was good. his action was none other than pure act. i give him a credit for that. its about time we have people like him to stand up for the rights. . !
