Wrong On All Counts

So I got it wrong too.

The BN backbenchers, at least some, do have backbones, balls and dicks. Here's the real deal.

It seems Shahrir got into hot water for nothing.

BUT do you think MPs should vote according to their conscience? The Prime Minister doesn't think so.

Would you believe it, The Star is running a poll online on the whole thing.

I don't think it's gonna be pretty. It'll be interesting to see if the newspaper publishes the results.

Now poll whether 2 vote on conscience??
As many malaysian knows UMNO-BN is a
not only a society for dickless
morons but also "unconcious" people.
Are these MP's dead or what, can u vote
against your conscience?? If u can
then that means u r corruptable, plain n simple.
As u can see Pak Lah wants BN MP to be corrupt,
as he is corrupt, as his decision do not reflect
his conscience.

At least TheStar is running a poll instead of calling for general elections as some smarty pants in our country want! DAP & 'Dan Bui' must be relishing this occasion - stick to the IMF 'Dan Bui', as you may find some of y'r chappies there.

Pak Lah is just mimicking Britain's Jewish PM Benjamin Disraeli in the 1800s who told his party MPs: "Damn your principles, stick to your party." Siapa yang bagi duit untuk bertanding? Kalau mahu undi sendiri, jadilah calon bebas lain kali. Inilah prinsip BN. Pakai wang rakyat, mesti undi BN, kalau tidak mahu, gunalah wang sendiri.

hey aisehman, i came across this...

INVITATION by Shel Silverstein

If you are a dreamer, come in.
If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar,
A hope-er, a pray-er, a magic bean buyer . . .
If you're a pretender, come sit by my fire,
For we have some flax golden tales to spin.
Come in!
Come in!

To be fair, I think its a knee jerk reaction from the PM. Just remember that this would have been inconceivable under Dr Mahathir !

Posted by: KSchin at May 9, 2006 03:46 PM

Pak Lah..

You screw up big-time.. Cemerlang, Gemilang...Temberang

Posted by: gearstick at May 9, 2006 05:50 PM

I think Pak Lah really screwed up on this one too. It says a WHOLE LOT about him and what he stands for than all those rhetorics he has dished out so far. Sad.

Posted by: Anak Merdeka at May 9, 2006 06:44 PM

While, I can understand the PM need to take a stand and the side he chose, my problem is that the excuse he is giving is very weak. Much too weak. Surely even he can come up with a better excuse? If I were him, I would say that BN politicians need the discipline or BN dissent is handled internally or something like that so at least it looks like he is in charge. The reason he is giving leaves much to be criticise. It betrays his lack of intellectual depth, his poor command of speech, to take charge in an emergency, the command of the pulpit. His mediocrity is really shameful and god help us if we have to go to war under this commander... So malu…lah..

oHoH!
I mean big time OHOH!

Gosh. It will be very painful to wake up in the morning and realise you have to really shoot yourself in the leg and then tell everyone you did so accidently.
Tomorrow - It was a misunderstanding.
Well. The Star has put intself in a spot. But Spot On it is.

Aisehman. Look. My hands up upstretched too. What can I say. oHoH.

Pak Lah, I thought you were different. I still believed you may still have something in you after all the NATO. Now I know you are no different than any other PMs we used to have.

Posted by: iamyuanwu at May 10, 2006 12:27 AM

Pak Lah seems to know what the rakyat thinks, well guess he is not getting this one right. Najib is playing along cos this only makes Pak Lah look bad with the rakya. Notice decision is after UMNO meeting but for all BN members. SO other BN parties are what..he he we know..just collect salary and perks and let our rights be stepped on over and over.

BN Temberang

Damn funnylah. From cari.com.my

Bagus sekali prinsip ni.... Lepas ni pembangkang boleh la bawak usul seperti ini... "Usul menyokong Pak Lah untuk terus menjadi Perdana Menteri"..... kita tengok dorang (MP BN) nak sokong ke nak tolak

goto current issues

"KALAULAH USUL NAIK HARGA MINYAK DIAJUKAN OLEH PEMBANGKANG DULU.... TENTU SEKARANG HARGA MINYAK TAK NAIK. Sebab tak boleh sokong usul pembangkang.

JADI PEMBANGKANG SEKARANG KENA MENGELUARKAN USUL LAWAN ARAH."

The paper tiger trying to roar and show off it's sharp teeth? Too late for Pak Lah. He should've sticked with the nice guy image.

Wonderful hearing a sweeping generalisation here.
“That has not caused us to suffer any kind of problem. I still believe party discipline is very important, and all party members have to observe it.’’

There's harshly enforced discipline, and then there's convincing people.

Anyway the Star poll asked for so much information it shook my paranoia.

cheers

Aisehman

FYI: The Star has published the results of the poll (see http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2006/5/10/nation/14196668&sec=nation).

Of the 3,230 that took part (including yours truly), 92.3% (2,981) voted YES. Only 1.9% (61) voted NO. The remainder voted either MAYBE or I DON'T CARE.

Bring back Tun. And the Saudara. Save this country, someone, pleeeeease....

For Pak Lah, "Walk The Talk!" require him to use crutches.
I think he is getting senile already.

Posted by: MI5 at May 11, 2006 12:01 PM

Since we follow British parliamentary system, you have to vote along party lines. However in this case, it is about upholding the integrity of MPs and therefore Parliament. If lawmakers does not want to account for its own existance, then why do we need them in the first place. Today Jasin MP admitted that his company was involved in the seizure of the timber. Doesn't this made him having a conflict of interest as well? Already bad enough to ask a civil servant to break the law created by MPs themselves. When it comes to defending the integrity of Parliament, then MPs should vote based on their conscious.

Going by what we have read so far about this BinYu Sof episode and the response by those custodians of public morality and righteous conduct, I believe the reign of AAB will mark the lowest ebb of this nation's history.
