I'd like to see how they're gonna do this:
Malaysian Airline System ... said in a prepared statement that it will have to fire 6,500 of its 23,000 employees because of the reduction in its operations.This bears out the fears of labor unions, which last week urged the government not to transfer Malaysia Airlines' domestic routes to AirAsia. It wasn't immediately clear if any domestic routes will be terminated. [Wall Street Journal; subscription required]

Heh heh heh ... I don't think so, even if it's the "right" thing to do.
And so we get to the root of the whole problem with this country.
ANOTHER THING None of our mainstream newspapers has the item above in their reports on the route allocation.
CORRECTION: The papers did have it, in their business sections.

Why am I not surprised that the mainstream press is trying so hard to bring only the feel-good news without any regard for the stark realities of life ? The spin doctors are trying to avoid having to stoke any further anger in the public domain, but the more they do this, the more we feel cheated. They think they can blanket out the truth....what a bunch of wankers.

I don't think its that simple this time. I believe the PM wants it to happen but whether he can do it is another thing. Its another test of leadership of a bunch of spoilt-brats UMNOputras.

What "feel good factor"? On the other hand, people have been telling me about the "anger of the rakyat" coming up to boiling point. Is that true? Is it? Can't see it tho'....unlike in Thailand. Oh I forgot, we are a POLICE STATE...so we have to keep our anger in check if we are not to end up in Pudu Jail like Hatta and his family. Shitty place to live..Malaysia. God? Why was I born here?
