Talk Cock

There's a lot of that going around in Parliament, and here's the latest example:

Teresa Kok (DAP-Seputeh) told Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Nazri Aziz that the directive [for policewomen to wear tudung during parades] had violated human rights.

Nazri disagreed, saying the directive concerned uniformity.

This could be seen from the fact policewomen were not compelled to wear the tudung except when taking part in parades.

"It is not going against human rights, it is a matter of uniformity. For instance, parliamentarians wearing the Number One uniform are required to wear a songkok, even though they are Chinese or Indians.

"These people still remain Chinese or Indians and have not converted to Islam. Yang Berhormat (Kok) only shows her hatred for Islam when she brings this subject up," he said. [New Straits Times]

Nazri is too clever to be stupid.

Unlike the tudung, which is a religious head covering, the Malay songkok, like the Arab kefiyyeh, is a traditional headdress.

Some Muslim Malay men wear the songkok to cover the head, usually during prayers. It is not worn because Islam requires the songkok itself to be worn.

This is the same with the kefiyyeh, which is also worn by many Arab Christians in the Middle East.

So, Teresa Kok did not supposedly "show her hatred for Islam" when she brought up the tudung issue.

She did nothing offensive to Islam by doing so.

Rather, it is Nazri who risks being seen as one who is ignorant of Islam -- his professed religion -- and of Malay culture.

Since he has more brains that he cares to use properly, Nazri here is simply talking cock.

the dato' is using the traditional way of shutting non-muslims up...when they try to comment on things affecting them...

I don't get it.. why don't they just discuss why the MP thinks it is a human rights issue rather than resort to accusations? Is this the type of 'productive' debate that's happening in our Parliament???

Just because the MP is from an opposition party doesn't necessarily mean that everything suggested from that party is to be opposed? Afterall, opposition or not, all parties are supposed to be doing what's best for the country, right? Am I missing something here?

well he hasn't started running amok. But really for a learned man, Nazri does say some stupid things. we know he is twisting the facts. If he has the balls, he should say someof the thingshe is saying outside of the parliament. He is the racist person.

Nazri shooting from below his belt, but missed (coz he is so cock-eyed).

I agree with you. Teresa did not hate Islam. She did not suggest what Muslims should do. Nazri seem moronic to drag Islam into the picture which is blesphemous in itself. A good Muslim should embrace the Quran rather than trying to justify tudung at a police parade.

Tudung is necessary to protect the dignity of women and women need to be behave modestly; not to reveal their bosom (ayat 31, Surah Al Nur)

The frequency our gundu Minister like Nazri makes mistake really just so embarrassing. Even if a family member in my company makes so many mistake, I would fire him/her

DiT, he's playing politics. he admitted this in a closed-door meeting with another audience, if you can believe his words. he said it was to give teresa a chance to say she's not an islam-hater. anyway, the fact that he associates the right of non-muslims to not wear the tudung with islam exposes the "uniformity" excuse for what it is.

r:

well Nazri hasn't started running amok. If he does, you will sure hear him shouting "racist" or "perkauman" more than 46 times to you.

Nazri is a secularist. I don't understand why he's making so much noise about this issue. Surely being an astute secularist as he claims to be, he must be on Theresa Kok's side on this matter; not go against her. What an asshole he is showing himself up to be. Same ol' Umno, they blurt out shit frm their mouths without thinking. Happens all the time. Does he actually know what "secularism" is? Go on Nazri (u prick) go to the library and read for once in ur useless life.

Now Khairy has amazingly gotten into the act with a news report heading saying "Khairy: Don't champion only one community." Get the link on my blog. What are these guys up to??

Posted by: Anak Merdeka at March 29, 2006 10:09 PM

Dickhead umno politician, try stupid reverse pyscho on msian people. A clear secularist fighting for Islam?? at an extreme act devoid of Islamic knowledge??. Easy as usual for money, dickhead just want 2 cause division as umno does. Malay = fundamentalist/terorist, chinese = greedy communist, indian = stupid gangsta. Division keeps umno in place. Rage against islam makes dato popular, Pas and Islam community takes heat, DAP labelled anti-islam communist. Umno become stronger, dickhead dato show as next capable umno leader, get more power, more corrupt, more money. In the end msian get more racist but dato end up with bigger merc...ha ha ha... Just publish dato merc number, big scracth or big brick will do nicely.
