I believe the duty of care towards being kind to one another regardless of race or religion takes precedence over the right to speak freely. Kindness towards one another by being sympathetic to those who are offended is of greater virtue than defending the right of persons to offend others in the name of freedom of the press.

I am annoyed too at the flippant manner in which the Prophet has been treated by the Danish media. But does Islam have to deal on the basis of death and destruction everytime it is confronted with an issue?

Why associate Islam with death and destruction? Just because a terrorist called himself a muslim, does that make him a muslim? Forgive me, if I am wrong. A muslim would not react in a violent manner no matter how great is the provocation. We must look at what the Quran teaches for Islam is a religion of peace. Humility, tolerance, forgiving, compassion and peace loving are some of the real virtues.
