Fooled Again
Daim Zainuddin used his position to favour his boys, so the accusation goes.
KJ, son-in-law of the Minister of Finance, buys a stake in ECM Libra mere weeks before Avenue Capital Resources, whose largest shareholder is MOF Inc, proposes a takeover.
See any fundamental difference?
I don't.
The NST, on whose board sits a major ECM Libra shareholder, went to town with the Daim-Halim-Metramac story.
Will it now do the same with the ECM Libra-Avenue deal?
Miracles do happen, but I doubt it.
So do you see, in these instances, any fundamental difference between the Mahathir-led Government of the past and the Pak Lah-led one of today?
What was it again ... cakap serupa bikin? Islam Hadhari? Work with me, not for me?
Here's my middle finger.

In almost every society, culture, village or club, membership has privileges. Likewise, being a member of the PM's family. So what is wrong when KJ buys a stake at ECM libra mere weeks before Avenue Capital Resources propose a take over? What is wrong when KJ's persuade his father-in-law to listen to him? What is wrong to want to be rich and powerful? And what is wrong with this country?

Nothing is wrong with this country. We must follow everything the government say. The government is always right.

Both are scandalous, brother!
Please do not show your 3rd finger to the contemporary leadership alone. I am of the view that your "team-mates" and/or your ex-bosses deserve the same treatment.
I also prefer to give Pak Lah the benefit of the doubt. He is unaware of or does not see any wrong-doing in the said deal. You cannot call Pak Lah a fool, as even our great emperor who ruled Malaysia for 22 years, Dr Mahathir was some time fooled by some people around him.
KJ is the only ( if not one of the ) wisest man and/or personal adviser PM comes across. There is nothing wrong for him to look after the son-in-law in these matters. As Chinese saying goes, any fertile water shal not flow into other farmers' fields.
I beg to differ on the accusations that Pak Lah pratices double-standards. I think he is honest in making those decisions.Like Dr Mahathir, he is able to "tepuk dada" and state that his consience is clear.
Shall we give him another year to show his best leadership?
